Phone: 877-897-6591

Marc enjoys practicing what he calls happy law, focusing his practice primarily on business planning and transaction law, as well as estate planning and administration. This has been a welcome change after spending the majority of his legal career as a general practitioner focused on criminal defense and other litigious matters. Marc enjoys interacting with and getting to know his clients on a personal level. His commitment to each client drives his sense of responsibility to provide the best representation he can to all clients when assisting them with their estate or business planning needs. Many of his clients have told him that he is not your typical lawyer and he takes that as a compliment. Marc’s goal is to make his client’s legal experience as pleasant as possible, while seeking to avoid any unnecessary conflict, unpleasantness, and drama.

Marc is a Colorado native, growing up near Littleton, Colorado, and is a proud graduate of Columbine High School. After high school, Marc bounced around the Mid-West pursuing his dream of playing baseball; ultimately graduating with honors from Western State College of Colorado, earning a Bachelor of Arts in both Political Science and History, with a minor in Sociology. He attended law school at Oklahoma City University School of Law and began practicing in Colorado in 2006. Marc joined Stone Law, LLC in October 2016 when he and Andrew merged law firms. Prior to joining Stone Law Marc worked as a small mountain town attorney. He started in Gunnison with Cliggett & Associates, PC (2006-2011) and then moved to The Delman Law Firm, based in Montrose (2011-2014) before establishing his own firm, Summers Law, Ltd., in the summer of 2014.

Marc has been a member of the Colorado Bar Association, participating in the Trusts and Estates Section, the Business Law Section and the Solo Small Firm Practice Section. Marc is also a member of the Mesa County Bar Association and was previously a member of the 7th Judicial District Bar Association and the Gunnison Inn of Court.

In addition to practicing law, Marc also holds a position as Lecturer in Business at Colorado Mesa University where he teaches courses in Business Law. Marc held a similar position at Western State Colorado University before moving to Palisade.

Marc is an avid Broncos and Rockies fan and a self-admitted gym-acholic. Whenever the opportunity arises you will find Marc spending time outside playing as much golf as possible or taking advantage of all Mother Nature provides in the mountains. He enjoys spending time with his wife and son and has become accustomed to living in the fruit and wine area of Colorado in Palisade.
